I purchased a headless body (L4 Digital Lumamax). I have a tailstanding switch and now I need a head.

What head is compatible with this line.

Is there a head that is small, yet will still allow a dropin of high power to be used. Two 123 batts fit into the body with the switch on so I'm guessing that is the batteries it used.

I would like to mod this light for EDC and would like to keep it as slim and as powerful as possible (within reason).

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

The possibilities for an E-series body like the L4 are almost endless.

For simplicity (not to mention the compact size, great output, etc.), I'd go with a VME head and M61 drop-in from Malkoff Devices.

Edit: And I should probably add, the VME head/M61 combo also requires the M61 Lens and Head Gasket Kit.

I just went leggo on my 6P and did a brass mcClickly and Nailbender SST90 dropin and it is one very nice and bright azz light.

But none of the parts that fit my 6P will fit my L4 Digital Lumamax as it is smaller. Where does one get goodies for an L4 and what series do I look for? I don't hear much about the L4 series and when I searched there wern't but a hand full of post back in 2003.

With the Malkoff VME head you can fit any P60 drop-in to your L4.

Including the Nailbender SST-90. You will need a MiniMag UCL lens too.

The L4 is essentially the same as an E2e with an LED head. All parts between the two are interchangeable. There are loads of custom E-series parts. Here's a starter FAQ, but it hasn't been updated in years (there are lots of non-custom options available now, like the NiteCore Extreme head).

There are also E2C adapters that will allow you to use a 6P (or compatible) bezel with your L4 body, and almost any drop-in that would otherwise work with a 6P.
