I'm trying my 1st Mag MOD and I am hoping to use an old 4D I have sitting around. I want to keep the modifications to a minimum and have chosen the 1185 bulb. I was thinking about using 3 protected LiIon 18650s in series from AW because of their usefulness in LED lights I already own. (I'm not really interested in buying any NiMh batteries.) I believe there will be an approximate 51mm gap If I use this setup. Does anyone know of a good spacer to complete the connection OR have a better suggestion? Should I just get another size Mag?

I have searched around and I didn't see an answer to this, so I apologize if this has already been asked. Thanks for your time!

51mm is near the length of a standard AA, I believe. Try PMing LuxLuthor. He may be able to drop a dummy cell(s) in to fill the gap. If not (or if I'm way off base), I'm sure the thread will move on to more complicated methods. GL with the mod.

Thanks for your input. I have seen LuxLuthor's work as I have been researching on these forums and it is very impressive - i will look into that route.

Will I be looking at adding a lot of resistance with the 4D setup i'm proposing?

aluminum is a good conductor, and you have a thick aluminum pipe,a few inches longer isn't going to make any difference...
