I picked up an unused PIR1 a while back and finally got everything assembled last week. I am pretty sure everything is assembled correctly because everything is working great, with one exception. I can turn the light on, enter programming modes (including via the USB kit which I purchased also), and change between the three programmed voltages with no problems. The soft start and voltage regulation are all operating normally also.

The problem occurs when I click the switch and turn the light off. It turns off normally, but then it will not turn back on at any level or mode. I have to unscrew the tailcap to momentarily cut power to the whole driver, and then after that it will work normally again. It keeps working normally until I turn it off again via the driver and then it's off for good until the power is cycled again.

My reading of the PIR1 manual suggests that I should be able to turn the light back on once I turn it off just by clicking the switch again. Am I misreading how this is supposed to operate or have I assembled something wrong? I am going to make a second switch to install in the tailcap just to make cycling the power easier in case it's just a glitch that I have to learn to live with. BTW, the USB programmer shows the firmware version as 1.01.

Any help from somebody who has experience with these or any other suggestions of what to try to troubleshoot / fix this glitch would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to give this thread a bump since I posted it just before CPF was taken down. Still hoping somebody more familiar with the PIR1 may have an answer.

Yes, switch has been modified to act as momentarty only and isolated from the battery. A seperate power wire has been added from the spring cup on the bottom of the switch to power the driver itself. The stock switch contacts no longer touch the spring cup and are wired to the switch holes on the driver.
