Has anyone seen these before? (scroll to bottom):

Low mAh rating, but says can discharge at up to 18amps? I'm not very EE savvy, so just wondering what these are for - would these be good for any light, possibly giving more brightness compared to a standard Nimhs and alkalines because it can handle a higher current draw?

good for a hotwire, incan, multiple leds, or something that DRAINS in less than an hour.

18amps is probably some rediculous max for it, if you stuck with the 10 rated, they might last a few cycles :)

Yes and no, mostly no. Very few stock lights using AA cells draw more than 2A-3A, most substantially less. If you are using good quality cells, you will not suffer significant voltage sag, and standard drain cells should work.

When you start to climb into the 4A range and above, voltage sag may become a significant factor.

So if you own or have built a high performance hotwire light that uses multiple AA cells, and have current drain of 5A or more, than these cells would be the ticket.

Cool, thanks for the responses, guys!

Sounds like for a 6AA or 9AA ROP or other hotwire config, these might be the ticket...but not necessarily very useful otherwise. Great info!
