sorry about ur lost! ....well u know how it goes here at CPF...time for an upgrade!

If it's not in a holster, then it is on my keychain.

I don't ever have flashlights loose in my pockets (jacket pockets excepting for larger flashlights).

Sorry to hear of your loss. On the positive side, just be glad it was *only* a G2, and not a more expensive Surefire like the LX2! Now that would make a grown man cry. Just use this opportunity to upgrade. I agree completely with the holster idea. I have several for my various lights, and a couple new Maxpedition holsters on the way later this week.

Let us know what you replace your G2 with.

holster.. never used any on mine..

my main edc light is in my pocket. either stashed in bottom of it or clipped. longer lights are upright anyways. also on the light i have a lanyard.. which is attached to KeyBak rectractable keychain holder that is clipped into my belt. (change length of the lanyard to obtain the right carry position.. shorter for longer lights so they stand upright.. and longer for tiny ones so they can drop to bottom of the pocket with ease.

reach of the superduty keybak is 48inches.. so i can pull it out of my pocket on right side and reach as far as i can with my left hand and still use the light with string going to my belt.

if i end up dropping the light somehow.. it will keep hanging on the lanyard and from keybak. (fenix tk11 is too heavy for it to pull all the way up. it will pull it almost all the way up from ground.. fw inches short. lmini2 works fine. so i guess top weight for it to fully retract up is somewhere in 150grams.)'

i also can detach it also if i need it "off the rope" ( via carabiner clip)

i have bad tendendy to forget where i put the light after i used it.. but now with the lanyard setup.. i definately remember if i take it off the belt and when its connected, i cant drop it accidentally and/or forget it behind me on some shelf or table.. it will hang along!

hrm, maybe this could also read - when you take it out, put it back.

I only used a holster on my tool belt (home reno's), otherwise edc is in my pocket. Well, it's zippered, buttoned, or velcro'd in there.

This is why you shouldn't mix alcohol with flashlights :nana:

On a serious note, it sucks to hear you lost your G2... I tend to leave things in pockets with zips only.

i dont think he forgot to put it back in his pocket, i think he was getting out of the car and the flashlight slipped out of his pocket..even clipped objects can fall out. but a holster is almost fail proof to drop an object.

I used to carry my light in my back pocket, until the day I stumbled and landed on my butt hard. Having a Fenix shaped bruise on my bum for a week and a half was not pleasant.

I made a kydex holster shortly afterward.

exactly, ah well, lesson learned and time to upgrade!!

I carry my EagleTac T10LC2 in a Blackhawk Mod-U-Lok holster. Bezel down and a perfect fit! Great on a duty belt or for training. Not sure if its the look you're going for when you are out and about suckin down good quality ales.

Bianchi AccuMold 7326 fits 6P/G2 and clones. I carry my 6P in one every day and have never had it come close to working its way out.

That's why I said I only put things in zipped pockets :nana:

man that sucks. Call the taxi company and have them put out a lost and found. Nothing to lose right?
on the other hand if i get in a taxi and see a g2, ill know its yours..;)

holsters do more then keep your lights on you, when storing lights, they prevent them from scratching up each other.
anyway you should contact Jae, he has some really nice new holsters for pretty good prices.

There is a new holster I just picked up off of CountyComm.com called the "NiteIze" (stupid name). It's actually a decent holster if you plan to clip it to a sturdy belt. It is constructed of high quality black nylon and an elastic retention device so it fits many different sized lights, I'd say from a "AA" up to "D" sized diameter body. Best part is the bottom is open, so length is not an issue, price is a plus too; $10. I keep my Surefire E2DL in this holster for duty use, great little holster. The only downside is the scalloped tailcap on the E2DL makes re-insertion a two handed operation, but getting it has not been an issue.

PS: One more cool feature; the holster rotates fully around the belt clip and locks in about 10 different positions with a detent, so you can swivel the holster forward for hands free illumination, very usefull, very cool.

thing is i cannot recall which cab company i took but anyway, i have resigned myself to the loss and hope that if the person didnt hand in the G2 and keeps it for himself, that he tries to recharge the RCR123s i had in there and blows himself to bits :nana:

will still lodge a report with ALL the cab companies just to be safe. thanks for reminding me

:( Sorry for your loss. I dont use a holster - people think I'm weird enough with my flashlight 'problem'. If I am going to be in a situation where I might lose a light, I will use a lanyard.

+1 on the belt clip - it's the way I carry most of my smaller flashlights.

What is on the shopping list for a replacement? :sold:

lol zipped pockets would be great! i use to have a hard time with my OCD and always thought i would drop something out of my pocket.. and would repeatidly check the ground to see if i dropped anything of mine. i thought about sewing up zippers on all my pockets....but i think it'll look funny on jeans. maybe cargo pants it'll look alright...
