Hi there!
I have made a heat sink from an old cpu heat sink, and i would like to know if you think it will be good enough for a P7.

Here is a pic:

The diameter is for a MagD,and the height about 40 mm.

Thanks!!

What are you intending to use the heat-sink in?

A CPU heat-sink relies on airflow (usually from a fan) to remove heat from it but a typical torch heat-sink relies on the torch body to take it's heat away, so if you're going to enclose it in a torch it needs to closely fit the body because it will get no airflow.

Its hard to tell a lot from the photo because it isn't very high resolution, do you have more / better photos?

I thought too making it solid, but take in mind that other heat sink, for example the one from Litemania,is shorter and isnt solid,it is empty in upper and lower part.
And is shorter than mine.

The litemania transfers heat to teh wall of the light. If yours makes contact with the sidewall over a large area it should be all right.
