How do I fix this thing?

Hi all

I have this B&D soldering station

And one of the holding clamp arms snapped out of its socket, and haven't been able to snap it back on the plastic is really hard, any tips on how to do it? Is there a special tool or something? it snapped right next to where it comes out of the base.

BTW what is the name of those flexible arm thingies?

Looks like Loc-line fittings. they have special pliers used for assembly, but I've always been lucky and have been able to force them back together.

That's not really a soldering station. It seems more an old-style soldering iron with a holder and two arms.

A true soldering station is temperature-controlled, with a (usually 24VAC) power supply, temperature monitoring hardware and a separate iron with a heat sensor.



Proper soldering stations make soldering a much easier and more enjoyable activity than self-contained irons. If you solder often you really want one, even if you don't know it yet.
