I just put some tape over both ends of the spare batts and put them into a little ziploc baggie... waterproof and 'short' proof... so far...

That's a great idea... just make sure you use tape that won't leave adhesive behind. You don't want to get that stuck inside your light.

Thanks Rev! I usually use the 'micropore' tape (i think thats what they're called) that are used for medical purposes, hold a bandage in place, etc.. can't remember what they're called exactly.. but its real soft and easy to remove with a little fingernail scraping, so far hasn't left any sticky residue behind... yet. Think you should be able to get them from pharmacies easily...

[/ QUOTE ]Wow, I like that idea. Cheap, easy, and no extra bulk! As far as the tape goes, I have some of that blue painter's tape. That stuff is made specifically not to leave any residue behind. It peels off of everything nice and clean. I think I'll try that. Man, this place is a wealth of useful information. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wow! You must've got some good quality ones.... The ones that I use (on myself) usually leave nasty residue on my skin... Or do these things have expiry dates? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I cary two in an Altoids tin. They're in the small ziplock bag that they came in. In the unused space, I have cottonballs and a Lysterine pack /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Turt, I stopped by Wal-Mart on the way home, and ah ha ! They were there as you said. Orange match holders with a screw on lid.

Neat, waterproof, cheap, looks like it was made for the two 123's.

I LOVE making things work in a manner not anticapated.

Has anyone tried coin tubes, a nickle, dime or penny size should work for 123's. Im gonna go google it.

how about a small peice a pvc pipe with ends on it just dont glue both sides lol

Spango,
I gotta admit, the roll that I'm using has been lying around for quite a while, but still doesn't seem to be any less sticky. I guess the difference is when you stick it on your skin, dust, etc sorta sticks to it, thus leaving the residue you see... on my batts so far, I've been able to get them off almost cleanly with a little scraping using my nails. No problems with the batts sticking to inside of battery tube of a light though.

Well, if you want to play safe, just change the tape maybe once a month or so... that'll make sure the glue from the tape doesn't stay on the batt after you remove it...

I only use holders that cost a dollar or less..... like these->

Wow... very 'slick', if I may say so, Slick! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Many of the stores in my area stock spare cr123 carriers next to the register. The carriers will hold 4 cr123 as they come but can be cut to hold 1 to 4 batteries and the great thing about them is they come with a free cigar. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif The cr123 size I am using now came with a free Garcia & Vega corona. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif PS the spares tube and a 2cell e series light will both fit in the NiteIze MINI POCK-ITS utility holster

Blade-Tech sell a great little 123A batt carrier which you can carry on your belt...I have the 3-cell version and really like it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I have the 3-cell and 2-cell versions of these. They're great! I have one strapped to my backpack, and the others I occassionally wear.

Is that the original cap on the tube, or is it something custom?

Guys~
I bought some of James Knights excellent Lexan battery holders and lens caps. The single spare battery holder fits in a small leather "watch pocket" pouch with my Arc LSH-P. (I put a twisty end cap/switch on my LSH-P so it's really short.) I have one of his two battery carriers for my Surefire L4. I'd like to ask you guys if the two #123 lithiums touching in the two battery carrier does "anything bad". (Shorts, gas, etc...) I've cut a dime sized piece of thin cardboard that is now between the two batteries, but I wonder if it's really a necessary thing.

Thanks,
Will

I keep a spares carrier in the glovebox. I can always get to some cells when I need them.

Since I got my L4 I don't have to keep them on me.
