I want to do the brass ring and resistor mod but honestly i cant get in to it. Can i have any more ideas. Ive tried sticking a razor blade in but there is no gap at all so im just scratching it. ive also tried pushing it out from behind with a cut up coat hanger. is it this hard for everyone to get in to their pointer? Can you tell me how you lot all did it?

Just keep messin with the razor - make sure it's sharp and keep working at it all the way round. It will start to loosen after 5mins or so... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gifthanks again lasermodifier youve helped me out yet again with another daft simple problem. Now to have a go at your stage 2 and 3 mods. Probably get some more probs but i might as wel have a go.
Cheers

HI,
I use a small pipe cutter. It has 2 rollers on it. just tighten it,, turn it,, tighten it and turn it till it comes loose. don't cut it off. ha ha ha. this works very easy.

I dont know why you are bothering with a razor, all you need to do is grab it tightly with some pliers and twist and pull until it comes loose.. thats the way i did it, it took only a few minutes.. but i admit it was a pain trying to do.

The razor just stops any scratching of the nice shiny chrome finish... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Remember...anything worth waiting for is worth having - in this case an unsratched modified laser pointer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
