Well like the majority of American's I drive to work now although if distance, traffic and weather made it possible I would ride my bike. But for three summers in high school and college in northern New England, I rode my bike 19 miles round trip, six days a week to my restaurant job. When it rained I would put dry clothes in a garbage bag inside of a knapsack. I generally got out of work around 10:00, 10:30 pm on average and I had a generator light system that was just strong enough to see the skunks about the same time they saw me. Oh this was all on a $100 Western Flyer bicycle, not like the fancy bikes I have now that tend to gather dust all too much. I would go back and do it all again in a heartbeat if I could.
