How much are good used batteries worth?

I recently bought a ton of used but still good batteries from a warehouse auction. $10 for two shoeboxes worth, all loose, mostly aa and aaa, some lithiums, some CR123's. All different brands, all primaries. I tested them all and most of them have full or near full charge. I might be able to get more, so I am wondering what the market value of good used batteries are.

I don't want to ebay them because it's too heavy to ship all of it and selling them in bunches would take too much time. How much would you charge for them? And how would you sell them?

How much would you charge/pay for good used batteries?

depends on where you live. I am guessing you are in the US somewhere but you don't list your location you could be in canada. If in the US and the AA/AAAs etc were 1.5v or better and good brands you could try about 25 to 35 cents each for the generic non name brand 10-25 cents each. Personally I wouldn't touch batteries with less than full charge on them.

Yea, I'm in the US. I don't think I can possibly use all of these batteries. A few weeks ago I bought a Microstream 1AAA because I was too cheap to buy batteries.

So about 25 cents each for the alkalines...

How about the lithium CR123's? A dollar or two sound fair?

Used? CR123's might fetch 50 cents at best, since you can buy them brand new for $1 each. I personally used to buy all sorts of cells (lithium primary and NiMH) for 20 cents each at the highest, 5 cents each at the lowest.

I don't see why anyone would ever buy loose alkalines for any price, since you can get matched bulk boxes for so cheap.

If someone gave them to me, I would use them in non-critical devices that don't leave the house.

But I wouldn't pay a dime for any amount of used batteries. I depend on reliable batteries too much in the field to risk having a bad battery ruin my day.

The only rationale I could foresee for such a purchase is for use in children's toys, where they're inevitably going to be left on sometimes and abused. But as for use in my devices, I only trust brand new lithium cells.

You are able to get new alkaline batteries for 45 cents each online, And i am almost positive that they are cheaper at discount stores. I would not pay anything for used alkalines because of reliability concerns.
