How long have you been using a sandwich?

I just returned from the sandwich site and I see in my order history that I got my Madmax Plus Sandwich Module kit Q3 on Nov. 18, 2003

It does not seem like I have had it three months already, wow!

I have been using it daily at work in a black mini-mag and I could not be happier with it.

I have had many surefire lights. Most of them have come and gone in way less time then three months because they just sit around not being used.

I still have a couple surefire's sitting around, but when I need a light it's the black mini-mag with the Q3 that is on my side ready to be put to work.

I really love my mini-mag w/Q3 and would be lost without it.

So how long have you been using your sandwich?

Pahl,
I pre-ordered a BB500 sandwich back in November, 2002 and used it for 7 months in a minimag/Kroll setup. It provided light on my bicycle helmet until Feb 2003. At that point I went to several countries before landing in Iraq. There it was my EDC and worked very well to light up the darkness. Screwed around with it and broke the emitter leads /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twakfl.gif Made it work until I returned home in late May.
As soon as I got home, ordered two BB400 Q3L sandwiches and put them in Brinkmann Legends. One on my helmet and the other as an EDC. In late August, I ordered two BB500 R2H sandwiches as replacements. My wife uses the Brinkmann Q3L as a bike light and the other was traded for an Arc AA.
The two BB500 R2H/Fraen LP/Kroll's reside in minimags as helmet lights/EDC and I am very happy with them. Sure, 123a lithium lights are smaller, but with the sandwiches, I can change to them if needed. Nothing like having the ability to use rechargables, cheap alkalines or lithiums in the same light.
My wife's sandwich is 9 months old, mine are 6 months and they work well. It is always amusing when people pick up the "minimag" and jump when they turn it on.
If I mounted a Surefire or Arc on my wife's recumbent bicycle...it would probably be stolen. With the minimags or Brinkmann hosts... they are wolves in sheep's clothing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Likewise, I was one of the ones to pre-order a badboy sandwich in Nov.02. It was the main reason for me registering at CPF in fact. That one is still going strong. My son is the proud owner and uses it daily on the job. It is in its second host. All of the people I hold dear also have either a madmax or a badboy. I think I grin everytime I use my bb400/Q3.

I have a MadMax Sandwich that I bought in the summer of 2002! And that was all I knew about it....no BIN's were used or outputs stated as I remember. Did a runtime plot on it on 9-12-02. It was called a MadMax Sandwich to make it different from Lambda's Illuminator Pills!

Wow, great!

I was kind of worried about how they would hold up to hard everyday use.

Now that I have used mine for some time I know that they will hold up.

I tried to use a Surefire 6P for my EDC. Everytime I dropped it at work it took out the lamp.

I once went through three surefire LA for the 6P in two weeks. That was a light I could not aford to use.

My mag with sandwich has been dropped a number of times and it just keeps on going.

Did I say how much I like using AA batteries too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the replies....
