Hi,

Could someone here show me how to connect the balancing wires (where to place the wires) when I want to charge 3 AA cells in series on this charging cradle, using Slot 1, 2 and 3 with a Dummy cell on the 4th Slot. I believe I'll need 4 length of wires to do that.

If I were to place the batteries in series in a straight line I can do it but in this configuration and with a dummy cell, I'm stumped.

By the way the positve end of the dummy cell is wired to the negative (spring) of Slot 1.

Thanks in advance.

follow the diagram here http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=161694

BTW you can't use that cradle in your picture, what you have is in series unless you disconnect the link & solder according to the diagram.
The cradle Luxbright has is in series; he wants series with balance taps. Nothing needs disconnected, just add balance taps at each of the nodes between cells.

So add one wire from the left (+) end of Slot 2, and one on the right (+) end of Slot 3.

Using the pin numbers from the Tenergy diagram lightfet linked:
  1. Black wire (from - end of Slot 2)
  2. Wire from + end of Slot 2
  3. Wire from + end of Slot 3
  4. Red wire (from + end of Slot 1)

Correct wiring with slots numbered from bottom

More logical for me !

Leave out the dummy cell

Wire all the nodes in battery order

Then you can charge 1/2/3/4 cells at a time with a TEnergy

If it is not a TEnergy then you need to connect the Charger POS to the highest numbered (filled) slot in use.

Cheers
