I own an A10 and some times when I turn it on, nothing happens. If I wiggle it or press the tailcap in a bit it will go on. This is very annoying and I figure the best thing to do is disassemble the light and clean it. This is my first serious light and I have no idea how to take it apart. I searched and have been unable to find a thread with step by step instructions on how to disassemble, clean and reassemble lights. Help please! Thanks.

It's probably in the tail cap. I had the same problem. If you take off the tail cap, you will see two dots across each other on the brass ring. Insert something like a eyeglass screw driver or a needle in the hole and tighten that up (spinning it clockwise) and see if that will fix the problem. If it doesn't, you can go the other way around and it will loosen and you can start cleaning.

The pill is the same, there is an indent where you can put something in there and loosen the pill.

If it doesn't turn on the first time every time, it's not a serious light.

But to maintain it, disassemble anything that can be twisted off and carefully remove the o-rings. Use rubbing alcohol and a rag to clean the threads and the end/top of where the threads terminate, and any battery contacts/springs. Wash off the o-rings with regular non-abrasive soap and water. Reassemble and you're done.

If you don't have any needlenose pliers where the needle will fit those two indents go to the local hardware store and buy some.

It's very handle to have those with flashlights. As was mentioned just use those and turn counterclockwise and you can take everything apart. Try tightening a little first to see if that fixes the problem.

You may have a bad clicky switch (intermittent) so it's possible you need to replace that. More than likely you just need to clean threads and other contacts and it will be fine.

Use some silicone grease (use lightly) to keep the o-rings supple.

Taking the tailcap apart is not hard (once you do it once) and most every flashlight works the same.
