I'm using the Z58 on my M4 and was just wondering about the 6 tiny holes situated around the rubber clickie. Can water or other contaminants enter the tailcap internals via those 6 tiny holes? What role do those holes play in the function of the tailcap or is it just for aesthetics?

It's just asthetics. I strip and polish the Z59's regularly and they're always getting rinsed with water with no leakage. No need to worry

I thought they were for the tool that SureFire use to screw down that component with?

The TailCap is sealed and can be considered watertight with regards to the rubber switch boot.

Oh.. I thought they were one way ventilation valve in case there's a battery explosion.

If you jam a couple of pointy objects in those holes and turn counter-clockwise really hard you can disassemble the tailcap. Use plastic tools unless you don't care about the annodizing.
