I think you'll like it. I am enjoying my HP Pavilion dv2500t Broadband Wireless (14" screen) quite a bit.

I had purchased a dv2000t and sent it in for a warranty repair when one of the keys came loose. They told me that they'd have to replace the entire keyboard (!). Then, when there was a delay in getting the back-ordered keyboards, they decided to send me a whole new laptop, and a significantly upgraded model to boot.

I am impressed with how hard HP seems to be trying to please with their C/S these days.

I just got this Logitech V450 Laser Cordless Mouse For Notebooks at Best Buy for $34.99.

The receiver sits in a slot under the mouse during traveling for convient storage. When installed the mouse shuts off. Note the green light means power is on.

Receiver pushed all the way in the light goes off.

In the slot where the receiver goes is a release button to open the battery compartment. Push to open. Be careful with the two tabs on top they make break easy.

too bad your new laptop is loaded with vista... this OS degrades performance to point of requiring huge resource to simply get even with XP with lessor hardware.

IMHO one of MS's main reasons for vista is forced non-compatibility with older software. this forces you to purchase new software.

upcoming SP-1 will enforce further this non-compatibility.

my ancient XP box with 768 meg ram runs great and easily out runs vista with3x proccesor speed and 3x ram.

XP box's main weakness if severe lack of hard drive capacity. which has been solved by using a 300 gig USB external drive.

need to load XP on new hardware ... that would be fast!!!

recently purchased a new HP laptop for my son at Sam's. spec's were similar, costs was $875 w/tax.
