Just when I was ready to pull out my credit card, I got to the TNC Custom web site and it's "Closed for Maintenance"..... who ever heard of closing a web page for maintenance?

Yes I see this morning the web site is closed, try again later /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Just another thing about the Hyper Lux V, I just received my pila charger with two 150S & 168S and I am very happy to see that it works fine into the Hyper Lux, two 150S instead of three 123A /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
In France one 123A cost about $10, and even if I have order 2 pack of 12 surefire 123A in U.S, pila seems a good replacement for its cost.

I haven't a luxmeter to compare the brightness with 3x123A and 2pilas 150S, but with my eyes it seems about equal.
Can somebody make measurement? Does LedMuseum can do this /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

I will try every few days- sooner or later it will be back.

Thank you for that information! I will have to look into getting some rechargeables. 123a are expensive in the US stores too - I buy Surefire 123s on the internet as well.

I don't have one either- but.... I did hook up a solar cell to a panel meter (I think it's a milliamp meter) I can get a relative brightness reading between lights. The numbers on the meter mean nothing in terms of lux or lumens, but I can see which light is brighter.

I've ordered a Hyper lux v and am awaiting it's delivery....

I went to buy the pila 150s but chargers are out of stock...

I guess it will take a little while for all the stock to rebound after the Christmas rush...

Well, let's see what happens...both the CR123A disposables and the Pila 150S rechargeables have some use on them, so this test isn't entirely 100% scientific.

With 3 123As (disposable), it reads 1,160,000mcd
With 2 150Ss (rechargeable), it reads 1,140,000mcd

(whoops, sorry about the delay... I started this post about an hour ago, and then got hung up with a friend on the telephone...)

Many Thank's Craig for this rapid comparison /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
These results confirm that with my eyes I can't see the difference /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
To return on the first subject of this thread, the only advantage that I find with the streamlight TL3-Led compared to Hyper Lux V, is its slightly lower length.

You're more than welcome Pascal! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I had the Hyper Lux V and the Space Needle II (where the Pila 150Ss were) where I could easily get to them, so running this little test was no problem at all. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ok! Sorry for any inconvenieace about the site being down for maintanance. I just couldn't get any more orders until added some stuff to the main page of the store. All my stock was completely depleted due to Christmas. I am now awaiting my next shipment of LED's. So when you goto the site please read the IMPORTANT information. I can still take orders but there will be a backorder waiting time till the LED's arrive. If you place your order now you will be guaranteed the color of the Light you pick to order. Since the flashlight colors are in stock just No LED's to put in them..

Welcome to the hyperlux V happy owner's /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif

Does anybody know if the optional pushbutton tail-cap switch for the HyperLux fits into (or can be modified to fit into) the MiniMag?

It does not fit directly on, as I just tried it. The tailcap is too large in diameter to fit the Mini-Mag's body.
I don't know if the tailcap can be modified; that would have to be up to somebody with a lathe and a spare Hyper Lux V clicky tailcap banging around in order to find out.

Are you talking about a 2AA mini-Mag? If so, you can purchase a pushbutton switch that is made for a 2AA mini-mag. If you are interesed I can put them on my website for you to purchase.

The switches for the mini-mag are 4.95 ea.

Yes!
Would that be a Ram or a Kroll?

Sounds interesting if IT IS NOT a Ram or a Kroll switch!

Sound like you've also had problems with those two? -So have I.
About 50% of 'em work OK, and the other half you have to overhaul (even tho they are new) to get'em to work right.

p.s.-My re-worked Ramswitch I wouldn't trade for anything /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I just e-mailed Craig of the LED museum and TnC asking if the Clickie tailcap switch for the HyperLux 5 will fit on the Stream Light TL-3 LED. If so I'd like 2. I prefer a clickie tail switch to the twist on switch.
