:D The Fivemega E series 18650 tube with fixed clicky end. An older uncrennelated E2E head. The Lumensfactory E0-E1R 90 lumen bulb.

The anno doesn't quite match. It's not all that bright really. The beam profile isn't flawless. The light is dimming from the minute you turn it on. It doesn't put out the whitest of light. It isn't a throw OR flood machine.
I love it.

Way to go Sarge! I've been really digging my C3 and M3 lately.

Congrats Sarge. Nice to have the luxury of the 18650 these days since it wasn't really an option with small incans a couple of years ago.

Cool Sarge- I had a 7 C cell Mag lite that fit that exact description that I just sold- made a heck of a head knocker.

I was actually thinking about something similar recently, either stock E1E or 18500 body with the LF lamps. Good to know it is a great combo.

Do you still have the low level D26 lamp from Timmo? I am really loving mine that I put into a G3. Kind of a similar beast although a bit brighter. What really gets me is the 2+ hour runtime on 3 CR123 cells.

Cheers,
Nova

Yes I still have it. It's nice too! I run it from time to time but I still can't settle on a host. The 2X18650 body would give a longggggggggg run but my M60WL refuses to leave it. :grin2:

Yeah - I just got a FM 2x18500 E-series body to pair with an E head and an EO-E2R. 150 bulb lumens - mostly flood. It's a great light to keep in the kitchen for a quick grab - and my wife likes it too.

Since those bodies don't have pocket clips, how do you carry it?

I've been EDCing a Vital Gear 3 with an EO-E2R for years now. The current draw is about 500ma less than the EO-E1R lamp and it's considerably brighter. Plus it's more practical in that I can use primaries if I want longer runtime. I don't understand the want for a 3.7v lamp unless you use it in a one cell body. Then it's a real nice pocket rocket. But otherwise.. doesn't make sense.

Although I'm not really an incan person, I'd love to see beamshots of Timmo's (325 Addict, right?) custom x-lola D26, comparing it to a P60 & P90. I'll bet that its hotspot acquits itself quite well, considering how low of a current draw it has.

:knight: M60WL

LOL

are you implying that there are bad incans??! :poke::nana:

Bad incan:
Maglite - pre-mod.

Good incan:
Maglite - post-mod.

In other words: plenty of bad incans can be made into good incans.

e.g.
Standard Maglite 6D - nothing shameful about the output, if it was from a 2 x AA light. But come on! Look at the size of that thing! It is like having a 6 Litre V8 car with a top speed of 70mph and 0-60 in 12 seconds.
compared to:
Maglite 6D ROP High - big torch with big output that is in keeping with what you might expect from a torch that size.

Am I really saying that a standard Mag 6D is bad? Yes, for its size it is pretty pathetic - my Mag 2D with ROP Low is much smaller and its output blows away the standard 6D, with 2 hours of runtime (the 6D would run longer, but for that much size and weight I can have a 2D and several spare batteries) from a much smaller torch with way more output my 2D is just better!

No matter what I do, or how many lights I drool over, my incans have a special place in my heart. Their warm glow, their simplicity, the color rendition: I love it all. My favorite lights will always be my incans. From my lowly 3d mag, to my numerous G2's and G3's to my spotlight; they are my go-to lights.

Congrats on your lego-esque light.

And now that I think about it, I want a stock 6d mag. For the heck of it. (Its a good bludgeon, too)

I'm with you. Even with all of my high power incans, I still have sooooo much love for my ROP Low. :grin2: It's cheap, simple, bright enough, and long running. 'Nuff said.
