I was hoping this light was not just all hype. It is'nt! I now have a light that replaces my Fenix P1-CE's. All buyers beware. The piston, inside the body of the light, and the threads of the head need to be cleaned, and re-lubed. If you do that before you use the light, you will fall in love with the Nitecore piston drive lights. If you don't,you will think the piston is to hard to push, and you may want to return the light. This light is GREAT!!! I love the UI and the many light levels. I can't wait one day when Nitecore releases the EX10,and the D10 with the netural tint Q3-5A LED.

Nice, a friend of mine bought a D10 and I've been thinking about buying an ex myself. I just bought 2 other lights though so it might need to wait a bit.

I've been reading ll the reviews on this light----wow!!! Time to get my first Nitecore, think they are good looking lights....can't decide between EX10 or D10???????? Also which LED--- q5 or GDP or is the R2 worth an extra $14........been thinking of a GDP, good idea or not?????

I've owned D10/EX10 R2/Q5/GD+. IMHO, I wouldn't want to get another GD+ if the one I had applies for all GD+. It has a purple tint, especially on low. Q5 is pleasant, R2 (latest) is slightly brighter but ring-ier. Note the PD pressure is a bit harder to press on R2 than Q5.

Cheers for that Zeruel

Looks like maybe a Q5 then.---- D10 or EX10?

Apply the golden rule:
Get Both.

P.S. if you don't like one of them eventually, let it off to me at half price? ;)
I can never get enough Nitecores.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that to happen....Its about as likely as me finding an Aleph Mule that I can afford

Bitchin' little light isn't it?

:)

I have both and I would recommend the AA version as you can always get spare batteries.

Also, it's the only one with a UI that I understand. Like my other lights but can't figure them out. As such, I have a Nitecore Extreme and JetBeam III Pro or something that I'll probably sell and that's too bad cause they are gorgeous lights.

Batteries shouldn't be a problem as I have both 14500s and 16340s---and therein lies the problem,,if I only had one sort of battery spare then that would be my decision made--having both I'm just not sure----AAs more easily bought like you say,, but shorter cr123 torch is sweeter looking (in pictures, I think?)--- Further down the road at some stage will be a Nitecore extreme (cost is holding me back at mo) and I really like the look of the Jetbeam III pro st bvc --------the list just gets longer and longer

Help, I need help is there any medication that can help with my lumenitis????

Disco

Nah, you're screwed on the meds bro. PM me when you're ready for the new lights. Like I said, I might sell mine since I'm too stupid to use the interfaces on both of them. Too bad 'cause they're incredible lights both of them and extremely good looking. The Jetbeam is prolly the best looking light I've seen.
Gorgeous

Thought as much----lumenitis --once its in your blood its there to stay....

Could definitely be interested if you do decide to sell either (or both)--you're right about the Jetbeam tho'---its a real beaut---don't see many 18650s with head same size as body----I like that for in the pocket points+++++ much easier to get out!! which model is it you have?

Is your extreme a q5 or r2 led??? if you do decide to sell PM me a price anytime (even if its in a few months) could easily be tempted.

Back to the d10 ex10 debate, any more thoughts?

Yeah, it's like herpes. When you get it, you get it for life :)

To be honest, I like both the lil' lights and yeah, I like the EX better for being short but again, I really didn't need both and I kinda regretted getting it because of the battery. The AA version again allows you to get batteries anywhere and sometimes, this CAN be a consideration.

Not sure what's in my Nitecore Extreme and not sure how I would find out.

Man, I wish they had different UI on those lights, at least the jetbeam 'cause it's gonna **** me off to get rid of it but frankly, I dont' use them because of the UI and yes, it depresses me :(

It's amazing how long term ownership can change perceptions of a light---fortunately (or unfortunately due to a small number of torches owned) I've not had a torch with a complicated UI but reading threads on some torches I think some of the torches are cleverer than me----how long before usb ports turn up so that you can programme torches by pc?????

My MCU-C7 is a little annoying as it keeps getting stuck in the ramping mode but I eventually convince it to change into the next mode set----its the only torch that I've come close to falling out with and its not a looker like the Jetbeam......

I think it might be flip a coin time for D10 or EX10......

Disco

So, flip a coin. You're not going to regret either one and the interface is simple enough even for me.

I think all this bull with all kinds of complicated modes is a pain but people here don't seem to mind and I guess, if they sell, they sell. Again, I'm too damn stupid and even had someone here call me and talk me through the UI of the nitecore but then, it was messed up which is why I couldn't figure it out and yes, I did get it replace without a problem.

Pila has a module that you plug in between the head and the body but I think it might weaken the light a little bit with more stuff screwed on but it's a hell of an idea. However, I'm also against too much stuff because too much can go wrong I think. I don't know.

I agree with you, a lot of these lights are too clever for their own good (and too clever for me to use) -- 4 or 5 modes with a very low low, maybe a strobe (personally I find them annoying but could put up with 1 not the usual 2 or more) and the other modes just med-high-turbo would be my ideal light------until then------EX10

or maybe D10.....

will give it some more thought...............
