I just found this ULTIMATE defensive light

ugh....

so lame. id rather have a gun, or even a piece of wood with a nail through it. I have no interest in "temporarily inconveniencing" an attacker.

Id much rather end their days of attacking.

Yeah, having them blinded and incapacitated takes all the sport out of it!:lolsign:

Run Time1.5 hours of continuous runtime
Brightness90+ lumens per sq meter
Full Illumination for Two (2) Continuous Hours

I don't get the brightness rating... and what kind of LEDs are in it? The run time also throws me. Which is it? 1.5 hours or 2?

They had a continuously looping infomercial for this light one morning a few weeks ago. I'm sure they still play it. The scenarios they showed were ridiculous. And how likely are you to have this big honker on your anyways? Some people carry around pepper spray, but they're not going to carry this big light.

And what the hell is the laser for? Aiming?

Supposedly it's for intimidating an attacker but it also gives you an aiming point for the pepper spray. I have no interest in the thing but for some people I guess it's better than nothing at all. I'm always amazed at the number of people willing to walk their dog at night without any form of protection...not even a flashlight. If a person wants to go for a walk in the evening and takes this with them they'd at least feel more safe. And for the person who can already take care of themselves fairly well this could certainly be a formidable peice of non-lethal hardware.

By their logic, a 1 square meter target would receive 90 lumens of light while a 2 square meter area would receive 180 lumens. Greater area = more light?

I don't think so...

Any company that knows so little about lumens that they think it's a function of area is a company that I'll steer well clear of.

If they come out with a v2 with added stungun function, I'm in. IMO it's a funner way to discharge those used batteries.

Yeah, that jumped out at me too. No matter how you define "lumens per square meter," I don't think it's a metric that can be trusted.

BTW, I went to a gun show last weekend in Las Vegas and saw a similar stun gun (with a light on it). An elderly couple was getting the sales pitch from a shady gun show dealer and the male customer asked if this would be appropriate for defense against pit bulls. For some reason I chortled loudly and the salesman shot me a dirty look. The laugh was TOTALLY unintended.

I think I'll stick to my Mag6D ROP with bayonet attachment. They'll think twice before starting trouble.

(imagines my Photon Freedom with a bayonet)

LOL  I would love to see a picture of that arrangement. Thanks for the laugh.
