I just saw the movie "I Am Legend". Really good movie! It looks like in that type of situation, it would really pay to be a flashaholic!
BTW, what kind of flashlight did Will Smith have mounted to his rifle?

Did anyone notice greenLED's avatar on one of the buildings in the 1st part of the movie?

Can anyone compare it to Omega Man for me?
I love Omega Man, but I probably won't get to see I Am Legend till it comes out on video.

Just went to see it tonight. I thought is was a good movie. Im glad I went to see it in the theater rather than wait for it to come out on DVD. The light mounted to the rifle looked like a Pentagon light.

Sorry for such a late post, i just saw it yesterday, and i have to ask, do incans produce UV light along with regular, like sunlight?
dare i ask if LEDs would?, and not UV specific LEDS ..and in this situation, it seems the best defense would be

and you gotta looooove the poster of the batman emblem with the super man emblem on it...sign of things to come perhaps?

Funny thing is, my group was discussing it, when one girl went "i would so totally not be prepared, imgaine if they attacked NOW"
obviously it was up to me to show them my Keys which were missing my Mini SAK cos my friend other friend borrowed it (i know i know, dumb move),but still had my xlight micro, my Fenix T1 on belt, Jetbeam-u in pocket, spare AAA battery in wallet, along with mini compass, spare Cr123As in bag along with my laptop..

I want to see that movie, but I'm wondering if I should read the book first. Will seeing the movie ruin the book? Crenshaw, incandescnt lamps do produce UV light, non UV LEDs do not. Having not seen the movie, I'm not sure what the link to the blacklights is supposed to mean, but if it has anything to do with killing the bad guys, it sounds like a party.

would recommend it, even if ONLY for that scene where he is the dark building with the pentagon light..:D

the book and the movie, as far as i know, differ a fair bit toward the end, i would see the movie first..cos the books ending seems to be better (i havnt read it, but i wikied it), and the movie ending would then be somewhat a letdown, dont get me wrong, its still a fine ending for a movie..

60+% on rottentomatoes says "go watch it"

And you WILL want to have the UV cannon after you see the link in the movie..:nana:
or maybe a Beast II will do...regardless i want to stockpile some half hour and 5 min Cyalumes to throw around..

In the original Omega Man, the bad guys could only attack at night.

KG, there's a book from the movie IAL or OM?

The Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price, The Omega Man with Charlton Heston, and I Am Legend with Will Smith are all based on 1954's I Am Legend book written by Richard Matheson.

There was another low budget movie came out around the same time as I am legend, also based on the book. Can't remember the name right now.

Except that most (99.9999%) lights block the UV. UV is stopped by regular glass. You need a good quartz glass to allow UV to pass through.

Pentagon light got promotion there. Will Smith had a pentagon light with laser on his AR. And all the Soldiers had Pentagon MOLLE lights on them.

What I dont get is why he did not have a side arm with him. He had his fighting rifle but no side arm? And no spare mags? And why coose an AR over a reliable AK? If zombies are coming after me I want a little larger Caliber than a 223 7.62x39:twothumbs
