I made a HUGE mistake

Well I bought a light that I had heard very good things about for over $70.00 that's about the size of a p2d but it's not a p2d.

I will leave it nameless.

So it arrived today and I decided to take it for a night walk with my p2d and compare the beams.

I get less than 100 yds from my house after a little testing and can't go on.

I had to ditch the two lights I brought at home and get my Raw NS.

I have grown accustomed the beautiful beam tint, convient and easy UI, small size/pocketability and the all around awesomeness of the NS.

The light couldn't live up to my standards that have been set by my NS.

Well lesson learned no more non Lummi lights

Thanks for listening.

I am also hooked on Orb lights!! I wear my Ti Wee Orb around my neck under my scrubs at work, and have my Ti Orb with me at all times; except when I am in scrubs! I am so spoiled by these lights!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I also have an NS too. THAT is the one that got me hooked on Orb lights.

Good to hear nathan. I understand that the light remains nameless to prevent flame wars, but they don't typically happen here in the sedate, relaxed atmosphere of the Lummi forum.

That reminds me, I need to chase up Surefire for a third time regarding the bulb quality assurance issue!

That sounds like a awesome idea TKC, keeping a wee on a necklace.

I will probably try that out.

OK then...

It was a deere light edc and the beam was horrificly purple.

When compared to the raw ns it almost looks a purple filter was placed on a led.

The ns is beautifuly pure white with no other color tones in it.

Not to mention it(deere light) wasn't that much more powerful or throwy than the ns to warrant the the size IMO.

Pound for pound it's not even close to a competition.

Just tonight outside my office me and a couple guys at my office had a shoot out and my little light was just as bright if not brighter that their huge pelican and surefire lights.

Erg. Not a fan of purple at all :sssh:. The Q3 3A's that Rob's using are VERY interesting to me- I have a DX 5A drop-in and it's a bit too yellow, but normal cree Wx tints are all too blue. There must be a happy medium somewhere? 3A seems worth a punt, anyway ;)

And yes, I know what you mean about lummi lights. If I know I'm going out in the dark, then I'll often take my D10 to play with, safe in the knowledge I can always pull out my raw al if I need to- it's the one torch I own that I'll always have on me and it'll always work. What a light:party:
Rob could get 2 easy raw ti orders by announcing he's going to stop producing them and has limitted stock left, because I'd stock up just in case I lose my raw al or it gets mangled in some freak accident. I doubt I'll ever find a better EDC, and that's saying something :)
