I think I may have finally found a set of lights that make up my *perfect* EDC group....

in short;
SF A2 Aviator
E1e W/ Seouled and Reflectorized KL1 head (E1L-SR)
Fenix L2T

for those who care, here's the longer and "wordier" version

Long-running light;
A2 Aviator on Low LEDs, for general navigation around the house and outside when dark adapted

General purpose light;
SureFire E1e with Seoul modded and reflectorized (McR20-S) KL1 head and McTC/McClicky, for when i need more light than the low A2 LEDs and/or the ability to tailstand when illuminating a room/tent/etc..., once i get my BatteryStation rechargable 123a's this light will become my general purpose light any time i don't need to preserve dark-adaptation

High-Power light;
A2 Aviator's Incan beam, when i need to "reach out and touch someone" (or something)

Scavenger Light; Fenix L2T, due to the ubiquitous nature of AA's i keep the L2T in my jacket pocket (winter) or in the car (summer), in case i need a light in an emergency situation and have depleted my stock of 123a's in my SF SC1 spares carrier, the L2T gives me the ability to scavenge AA's from other devices, i really should pick up an L1T body though, to give me the ability to scavenge single AA's, it'd be safer than scrounging up 2 AA batteries of unknown condition from different devices

I'm still trying to find a place in my EDC arsenal for my SF L1 Lumamax, but I'm having a hard time finding a reason to EDC it, the only advantage it has over the A2 and E1L-SR is the runtime on low (90 hours), it's too nice to relegate to Car Duty, and it's too nice to leave at home for power outage use....

with my luck, if i left the L1 at home, i'd probably encounter a reason to need it's 90 hour Low runtime......

So, currently, lights i'm EDC'ing on my person right now are;
A2 Aviator
E1L-SR
these cover pretty much 99% of my lighting needs, in fact, if I wasn't such a strong believer in the "Two is One, One is None" principle, i could add a 2-stage tailcap to the E1L-SR and that would cover 99% of my needs.....

in my jacket i have;
Fenix L2T
SF L1 Lumamax w/ F04 Beamshaper
my "scavenge batteries" light and my ultra-long runtime light
SC1 fully loaded with 6 SF 123's and a spare incan bulb for the A2

if the A2 wasn't such a cool light i would probably suggest you just leave it at home, and use the L2T for whatever you use the A2 for. or the e1e for that matter, just one SF + one fenix.

my combo is a fenix l2d-ce, and a sf m3. it covers versatility with a very high power light that fits in any jacket pocket (or pants if you don't mind the crenellated bezel eating trough them and your thighs)

I like the character that the A2 has. It's just unique in many ways and nice looking too.

Hi guys, newbie here. I have an A2 in my pocket right now, although I usually carry an e2e for edc. the A2 is a little bigger so its a trade off. like those fenix lites and I will get one soon as I can. Usually when I need a light im at work in some dark basement or attic, so you cant have too much light.

Great site, I hope to learn a lot.

A scavenger light...never thought about it that way. Yet another reason to love my Fenix E0. :)

A2 plus a smaller light is a great combo. I was EDC-ing an L1D-CE which would have been ideal on its own -- if only it had a lower low, a higher high, and a momentary switch.

Of course if it had all those it would be an A2 ;)

I'm running the L1D-CE off an eneloop now, so scavenging is really a CR123 thing only.

ARC AAA on keychain.
Draco Ti on beaded dog tag chain.
HDS U60 Cree in day bag.

A2 BK W only occasionally when fishing, hiking etc. It's in a Ripoff holster and when at home that's in a nylon kit 10 inches from my mouse. I know. It's over protected. Not a scratch on the black HA.

I need to Bawko my A2. Where's that tax return?

I'm very pleased with my Draco and Creed HDS. Almost LED "Nirvana".

I need a McGizmo PD.

IMHO, EDC should not be more than a primary light and a backup. For me, right now, the primary is either a Seoul Milky ML1 or my Seoul'ed HDS U60. My backup is always my Arc AAA-P. The HDS is very versatile and the Arc is almost fail-proof. The only time I ever bring a third light is if I know I'll be outdoors quite a bit, in which case I'll grab an A2. Most times, though, I consider the A2 too big for EDC.

I carry a mizer modded McLux PD.
Toda I am carrying a KL4 on a single cell body with a 2 stage switch. One light is tight the other is very wide.
This is the perfect combo for me. I have a 27LT in the bailout bag...talk about rugged WOW.

Or one small light that's always in your pocket and a somewhat bigger light in your bag. My EDC combination is a small AAA light (at the moment the LOD CE, it used to be a Peak Matterhorn) and a stock HDS B42XR with FX04 beamshaper. I like the HDS the way it is, I don't really need more light and the runtime is good enough on RCR123's. That's a pretty good combination IME, and on most days the LOD CE is sufficient for all my needs anyway. I always carry at least two spares for each of my lights.

Whenever I'm out and about I may carry a third light, depending on where I go. However, I often just use a 2x123 tube on my HDS for longer runtimes.

My EDC nirvana is this: Maroon CR 2 Ion, in watch pocket of jeans, and a SF E1e in my jacket. Or if not wearing a jacket, an E1e in a leather belt sheath.
