So, the mod of my 2AA magLED didn't go so well

Now I have a 2AA MagLED body, head, reflector, pill, but no electronics to make it work.

A quick search at DX does not show any small drivers that might fit in the pill.

Any ideas what to do with it?

Pls share some pics of the inside of this one. Always wondered how to disassemble and what the inside looks like. Maybe some ideas may come from that.

Thats not going to be easy. The MiniMag LED is built totally different from the standard MiniMag.The barrel on the MiniMag LED has a shoulder about a 1/4 of an inch from the end which retains the module and makes it impossible to slide in a regular sammie from the tailcap end.You might be able to install one from the bezel end,but it would fall out if you removed the head.

It could be done,as one of Wayne Y.'s high quality drivers will fit in the tube, but not without machining a custom heatsink/carrier,which would cost more than the $22.00 you paid for the light.I'm not aware of any driver that will fit the factory module.

Yeah, it's a pretty small area to work in and a rather unique design. The original board is 10mm wide and more or less rectangular in shape.

I think I may just take one of the 5mm red LEDs I have here and put in a resistor to limit the current to the LED.
