I can only have 3!!!

hmm well I guess I'd trade the fenix LOD out for and LDO1
Then I'd have my Surefire E2e with strion bulb and HDS U60GT

and a whole bunch of money left over... That would be no good though... I would have to have a 4th, and then a 5th, and then a 6th, and then... isn't that how this all got started in the first place.

It did however take alot of experimenting to find that those three lights meet all my needs and I know I have bought a lot of lights that I wasn't completely happy with.

below polar circle.. in country which used to make
yeah i could take some money back please. hmm.. 700$ and still keep about ten i like. should i list them here? hmm..

but to pick 3 idea.. i cant.

1. i do not want to be crippled to only have 3 lights in my posession. thats less than i carry every day with me!

2. i do not know enough about the true high-end lights to make an educated pick. (my price limit is still about under 80$ per light.. i need to be able to ULBAR it) so ra clickys mcgizmos surefire etc are all strangers to me. and if i would have to pick 3 i should really know plenty of those too to make an pick.

Well the OP says that you get your money back, doesn't say you can't keep your existing lights. So if I got to keep my existing lights, I'd use the money to buy a Ducati Headlight, with a Ducati Monster attached to it.

Yeah.

Not even sure I'd have to buy 2 more after that.

Since I only have 3 high quality lights and have learned most of what I know about lights from this fine forum, I would only swap one of them out.

I would keep my Ra170 and my Peak El Cap, but I would swap the C2 for an LX2 because of the slimmer body. To be fair, I have had the Surefire since the incan version first came out years ago.

Wow... much tougher than I would have thought it would be... I would buy the 3 most expensive lights possible so that I could sell them and then buy more than 3 lights...

If I had to buy only 3 lights, I would buy:
  • Ti Ra Clicky... best EDC light made and in Ti if you like Ti.
  • McGizmo Haiku XP-G... growing on me.
  • Surefire LX2... One of the best ever.
I feel completely treacherous that I left my Ti Aeon off the list.

I hate this thread:poke:

Fortunately, I only have 5 lights, and they are relatively inexpensive. Only one sucks (a cheap DX light). The other 4 have been great lights.

1. first light: Streamlight Microstream; great light for its time but technology marches on; now rarely used.

2. Akoray K-106; best budget AA light; car/outdoor/work light

3. Maratac AAA; best budget AAA light; backup/discreet EDC light

4. Zebralight H501; best light I own; most useful and practical -- tiny and can be used as headlamp/flashlight/task light/shower light/ceiling light/etc. It's a 24/7 EDC.

I won't get rid of any of them. If anything, I will buy the updated versions of these lights if they are available.

I'd keep these:

Zebralight H501 (it gets used the most by far as a task/work light)

Maratec AAA SS (EDC)

Shingingbeam's MG PL1 (general "bright one" and bike light)

(and my Dereelight C2H would be hidden away by accident just before all the rest had to go)

I've tended to either keep, buy for presents or give away the torches I've bought-with the exception of my 1992 MagCharger-which I sold and was able to buy via eBay a brand new replacement version 3 for an en extra 10.00 or so GBP.

As it happens I'm delighted with my three present torches:

1) The Maglite 6D Torch c/w the latest MagNum Star Xenon bulb.

2) The already mentioned Maglite Rechargeable Flashlight System version 3

3) The LED Lenser P14 Torch which goes everywhere with me nowadays in the bottom of my bag.

So I've never really wasted my money and am unlikely to go anywhere else unless Mr Maglica introduced an LED MagCharger....

I'd honestly like to keep all the ones I've bought. I love my babies. :)

This thread is of great help to someone who has but one flashlight (oh ok, there's a cheap DX light on the way).

All the lights having multiple mentions here will go on the list of lights to consider for my next purchase.

Anyway, keeping on topic, I'd re-buy my Quark Mini AA :D

Maratac AAA
Surefire E1B
Surefire M6 + a case of batteries.

It would be hard to part with my E2DL, though.

Various Ra Twistys
Wee NS (25L)
Jetbeam Jet-i pro V3.0
Five Mega w/nailbender's SST-50

The nice thing with keeping all your lights is that you can give some of them away to others who'll appreciate them.
