I'm still very happy with my L2T, you?

It's my exclusive around the house light. I almost always just leave it with the head fully twisted in the high position. I run it for a good month on a pair of rechargeables and it's still going strong only I top it off just in case it might be getting low. I don't have to fiddle around with a bunch of switch presses to change the light mode and I've never once thought that it wasn't putting out enough light for my needs. Eventually I'm going to buy a Cree or Seoul light but I haven't felt a strong urge to as this light is working out fine. I'm a big fan of lights that have a simple on/off switch and use another method for switching the modes that will stay at the last set mode when power cycled. Before I bought my L2T, my VIP was probably my most used light as it works in this methodology.

Any other L2D or T fans who have resisted upgrading to a higher power LED?

Well, the L2D is pretty high powered... :)

I agree with you about multimode lights where you dont have to click through the modes with the clickie. The L2D works that way if you want to, but I would still prefer if it didn't skip mode when you tapped the button, it's hard to signal with the light set as that. But still a great light, and you wont be dissapointed if you upgrade from L2T(allthough the output difference is less IMHO than what you would believe by just going by numbers), the runtime and regulation is GREAT.

i put an SV1J in my L2T and it was my favorite light for some time. the wow factor of the D mini replaced it for a time but i've gone back to it for it's size/shape, battery factor and the beautiful golden tint of the V1.

I havent tried mine with e2's or Nimh's yet, apparently this kicks them into gear a bit more... I am happy with mine, really nice smooth beam.. high output.. :)

The simplistic on/off and bezel twist is why it's grabbed all the time.

Sorry, can't resist modding. It's futile I tell you! :ohgeez:

Basically when you have to post and seek like-minded opinions to convince yourself that you are happy, then you are probably itching for a Cree or SSC :D

They aren't very expensive; go for it! :) Maybe try out a 'cheapie' first...

If I get another light, it may be a liteflux. I like the fact you can set the levels and have it start up at your default level. I also like the idea of a battery level meter. I wish more lights would give a battery level meter or some sort of prior warning that your light is about to go out of regulation.

I still think about getting a Proton as well. What would really make me bite if they replaced the red led with a white one for low illumination needs.

I modded mine with an ssc p4 USV0I. Cream white and about double the output with the same runtime. I like it much better than the urine yellow/green colour and ringy beam of the L2D.

yeh the urine l2t pissed me off after i noticed it. Color rendition is better though, how the bugger did u open the bezel, also what's the best power source for these lights ? lux3. cheers.

I opened mine with needle nose pliers that fit in the 2 slots in the head. Just use a firm hand and press inwards the circuit board to avoid breaking it. Warming up the head might make it easier in case it is thoroughly soaked up in epoxy. I got the seoul ssc p4 from litemania and a 0.3" copper spacer from the sandwich shoppe.

I really like my L2T modded w/a UV1J Lux III too.

I would like to upgrade to a SSC USV0H, but I'm worried that the low setting will be much too bright after the mod. Those of you who have performed this mod, is the low setting low enough?

I have and it appears alright to me in the low setting. Used the TSWOH Seoul P4 emitter

I gave mine away. It was a good light though.
I'm still waiting for an L2D CE in natural. :poke:

I haven't done anything to mine yet. It's still one of the more expensive lights that I own so I don't want to ruin it quite yet. Not quite up to getting a new Cree version yet. I still carry it around as it fits into my pants pockets easily.

Just got a bunch of new lights from dealextreme, but didn't get anything that really replaces it. The new ones are all brighter, but are either smaller or bigger.

Modded mine with p4 USX0I and flupic, mega bright on high. Perfect white tint.
Opened with strap wrench fan heater and internal circlip pliers.
