Like many on this forum I have been impressed with the standard Romisen RC-G2 but ordered a Cree Q5 and 7880 driver from DX.
The driver arrived yesterday so I fitted it today during a moment of boredom. I then decided to remove the R2 star from a Solarforce P60 drop-in that I was not happy with and bingo! My first mod and I have possibly the only RC-G2 R2 in captivity.
I've still a couple of hours to go before dark here in Spain but I'm going to play on my way to the bar. All I can say is it was a piece of cake to do and I'm impressed with the results. It's drawing about 2.5 amps at the battery (NiMh) which suggests the LED is seeing something appraoching 700 mA.
Unfortunately I don't have a working digital camera at the moment so am unable to post piccies.
