I have posted this numerous times in other areas, but I guesss either no one knows, or it just get skipped a lot, lol.

So, if you run an 18650 in a SF 6P, or a 17xxx(?) in a SL TL-2 which both run off of 2 x 123 primaries:

a) how bright of a light do you get?
b) will it look normal, or yellow because you aren't going at 6V like with primaries?
c) what kind of run time can you get?

At the risk of sounding impolite, have you tried to search for the information yourself? Instead of asking.

a) Dim.
b) It'll look dim yellow, even perhaps brownish.
c) Bad. Since the bulb is designed to be used at a set voltage, and by going much below (about 1/4 of the design voltage) the filament won't heat enough to make bright white light. What you're getting is something more of a red hot stove.

You could however successfully run a P90 (the 9P bulb) in the 6P by using two RCR123's if you wish to go by the route of rechargeables.

Yes I have, thank you. Besides, the search function on here is less than desireable. Do YOU have any idea how many threads I have gone through & have yet to find a specfic answer? Besides, I have asked this question about 5 times last week & no one has answered it in CURRENT threads.

So thank you.

I don't mind less lumens or brightness, that is totally fine with me. Don't want a brown or yellow light either.

So going with a p90 would be counter productive as to what I am trying to do.

Are there any p60 drop ins that would run fine with a 18650?

Prof, you are looking for a lamp or entire flashlight that has a 3.7V lamp, not a 6v one. When run on a single 18650, 3.7v lamps are very bright and white, more so than a P60.

Examples: Wolf Eyes Sniper with 3.7V lamp and 18650 - Streamlight Strion has a 3.7V lamp and has a cradle rechargeable 18650 (internal charging) - 3.7v lamps can be had from Lumens Factory that fit any P60 host; they are more geared to throw than flood.

Figured it might be so. As I've been trying to get something useful out of the search myself few times. Honestly it seems that reading random old topics is more productive than using the seach...

If I may ask, what are you trying to get? As you can pick up a 3.7v bulb from Lumensfactory that puts out 150ish lumens, or 7.4v bulb that also puts out 150ish lumens. Both of which are white but brighter than P60.
