I have an Inova X1 that was killed by a leaking Duracell battery.

I know that MAG replaces lights killed by durracell batteries if I just send them the light.

Any one know if Inova does the same thing or how to get it replaced under warranty?

Ask Duracell to replace the light! This is their responsability if a battery leak (and it is written in their warranty).

Years ago some Duracell D batteries leaked in my Mag 3D. I sent the light to Duracell and soon had a check in my mailbox for about $40, which paid for a pair of new 2D Maglites! AFAIK the battery maker should be held responsible, not the light maker.

From the Duracell package of C cells (Mar 2013):

"Should any device be damaged due to a battery defect, we will repair or replace it at our option if it is sent with the batteries, postage paid to:

yes, absolutely get with the battery manufacturer on this. They will pay up for these kinds of things. They consider it a cost of doing business as you will always be a battery customer for life. Replacing a damaged item is actually cheap insurance for them in keeping their customers confident in their products. I also had a 5 cell mag go bad from Duracell leakage. They sent me a check for $40.00 and a 12 cell bulk pack of new Duracell D batteries. It's worth it to use their warranty. It's for your protection as well as their own.

+1

Good warranty service with Duracell. They deliver.
Keep your flashlight receipts.

I had 4 Alkaline duracell AA's in a little dive light which blew apart after a chronic cell failure.

I sent it all away to duracell who returned everything stating that they couldn't categorically say that the failure was down to faulty cells :caution: and wouldn't be providing replacement cells or flashlight. :thumbsdow

After that load of Bulls*1t, I'll never buy another Duracell again - out of principle.
