It seems to me an "elephant in the room" was ignored, that of dark energy and dark matter. These may be intricately bound up in the structure of space-time, and might ultimately be key to unifying gravity and quantum mechanics.

Ray Kurzweil is involved the development and implementation of software, and presently primarily efforts toward artificial intelligence. The interest in physics, theory, and apparently the more controversial aspects of science fact/fiction brainstorming seems to be a sideline. A clearer distinction between the fact and fiction would be useful though.
