Sheesh, I go away for a while and too many posts to reply to individually. But yes I have tried the NX01 now, and it does give a large even hoptspot with the four corners of the grids at the edges of the circle, but the NX-05 is actually just the slightest bit "hotter" in the center with a dimmer outside. The NX-01 will give the more evenly "hotspotted" entire area though, if you need that sort of beam pattern.

I did try the Fraen 6 degree lens, about the same as the stock NX-05. Actually Wayne's 30mm is probably the best optic, but I don't want to turn this slim little beauty into a mini Turbohead just yet.

very impressive! on one hand i hope you start selling these so i can have a chance to get one but on the other hand i know i don't have the money to buy one. paradoxical isn't it?

Mr Bulk, did the NX05 fit in the 2AA head? Also - any idea if a BadBoy sandwich could be used in one of these lights?

Jon

Charlie, I hate it when you're long winded! Band width aside. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Excellent ... but just to be sure ... will a BB sandwich drop right in (similar to the legend and mini-mag) or is there some modification necessary?

Jon

Nice job, Charlie. Just when I think you've squeezed a 5 watter into the smallest light possible, you shrink the package some more. Excellent work!
