ipod question again

ok so i found this website http://www.zolved.com/zchannel/brow...s__Tricks?page=2&Topic=37&Brand=66&Category=5 i realize that when you remove songs by deleating from the "ipod selection" it does not remove it from your music library, however when i deleat from the ipod selection the free memory does not increase as it should, whats going on, any tips here?

it didn't remove it from the library. My itunes asks me if I'd like to delete the file, too.

ok, what i am tring to do is to remove songs from the ipod, and still have them remain withing in my music in itunes, I "thought" you clicked on "your ipod selection" then click deleat, by doing this the song is removed from "your ipod selection" the section which is accesssed by the ipod icon, but the song is still within "music" or the the library, located under the musical note icon. and as i have mentioned, it appears things are being removed from where i want them to be removed and NOT being removed where i DO NOT want them to be removed. I still cant figure out why the ipod memory is not increasing when the song is deleated from the ipod selection?? Also whats the deal with checking and unchecking the boxes for each song?
