Why hasn't Surefire put out an IR stealth filter in the form factor of the rest of their filters?

Oooh. No reason you can't hack an IR filter for this; the glass filters can be unscrewed and disassembled, unlike the plastic filters.

Now I need to source me some good high-pass material and see if it works.

There are some camera (CCD/lens) ones on ebay. OK, you'd need to grind them down, if you wanted to stick them in a 6P, but some of them at least are AR coated, too.
