I have a bunch of laser optics... not quite sure what they all do or what they are for, but is there any way to test them to see if they are IR filters?

depending on the size... best thing i think is to take apart an old webcam, or buy one for a few $, and stuff them in there and take a shot of your VCR or DVD or just some coke. If you see right through it with some sunlight around, it's not an IR filter. Also, some things could be identified just by looking at them
