Is energizer 2450 better than the 2500?

After I bought some energizer 2450mah batteries, I was told they were the worst rechargeable batteries because of the high self discharge rate. After google, I found that is the notorious 2500. So is the 2450 better? If not, I can return them before I open the package. Thanks.

They may not be as bad, but there is no reason to buy them anyhow. You can get higher capacity name brand cells for the same price (ie. Duracell 2650's, Sanyo 2700's), or you can get LSD cells (ie. Sanyo Eneloop, Duracell PreCharged) which are vastly superior in almost every other way for the same price.

The Energizer 1850 and 2300 were(still are) great. 2450s seem to be fine and as you found out the 2500 suck big time. As posted Sanyo Eneloops and Rayovac Hybrids much better for most applications.

Energizer is only a Brand Name that is sold to the highest bidder. One WAG is as good as another who makes which cells with their name on them.

Yes, you are right. One reason that I bought them is they were in promotion, $3 for 4 batteries. Thanks.
