Hi,

My iPod, camera and notebook use li-ion batteries. They're more or less in my car at all times throughout the seasons.

I was wondering if rcr123's in my e2dl is a bad idea to leave in my car on a summer day. What are the chances of a venting incident and what temperatures should I avoid, if any?

Thanks a bunch

isnt that nice to know
most of the spec sheet list the MAX at ~60C or ~140F, and say dont charge above 45C or even less , but each manufacture has thier own specs, so getting the specs on the particular cell you use will tell more.

degridation and selfdischarge increases at increased temperatures, and they arent supposed to be be charged at both extreeme high temps or extreeme low temps, add in that many electronics "boost" the temperatures already present , especially with CPUs grinding away.
dont leave things in the direct sun.

I just do what i can to completly cool the Car itself, reflective sun shades, parking in the shade, or taking the devices with me when I cant get it cool, putting it under the seat , cracking a window a tiny bit. I avoid having to charge in any really bad temps.

the more you can do to prevent it, the longer it will live. A car or a trunk can easily get to 140*+ in the hot sun in california, has been tested many many times.
