I just moved to Hawaii for a grad school position. Yay.
I bought a bike. Yay.
I need a headlight. Yay!
Difficulties I'm currently looking at: High theft area, so anything that isn't bolted to the bike is getting yanked immediately. People do carry around hack-saws, so I'd have to get a unit that I can either A) loctite to the bars or B) remove every single time. So I'm looking at small, modular units, thinking maybe two G2Ls or so, with a few RCR123s.

I just thought of something cool, maybe you guys could help out - are there any production (or semi-production) parts that would be essentially like a Mag-lite head connected to a remote battery pack.
I love the size and reflector of the mag head, but don't like the body sticking back so far. I don't have the resources personally to construct such a device, though I'd love to.
Anyone have suggestions?
