Hi all,
I have had a IST Aspheric by Packhorse for about 2 months now and it is a supreme thrower. The throw is about 50% more than a Dereelight R2 P60 drop-in smooth reflector set-up. It has the same throw as my ID Mag Aspheric built by Nailbender, but the Nailbender has slightly more intense beam at 100yards.

I have the Zoom light from DX and it throws too, but no where near as far as the Packhorse IST or Mag Aspheric lights. The lensbright cr123 light has even less throw than the Zoom light from DX, but needless to say the build quality of it leaves you speachlesss.

Great Job, how does that Packhorse compare to a Tiablo A9 with aspherical lens? Doesnt matter, I still want one :)

I tested my 1D Mag aspheric vs. a Tiablo A9 Aspheric while doing a night time hike with the San Jose, CA members here. The ID Mag aspheric had slightly more throw and brighter at distance than the Tiablo A9 aspheric. Having said that, I honestly think the Packhorse aspheric will throw or perform just as far as the Tiablo A9 aspheric or do slightly better. The cool thing is that the IST Divelight is about the size of a 6P, but thicker.

In real life the Packhorse and the 1D Nailbender R2 Mag build really light up that palm tree that is 100 yards away, but for some reason my FlipVideo HD can't capture it as I see it. It does give you a good idea of how well aspherics throw and I can't imagine how more intense the Deft must be.
