ITP A3 EOS and Maratac AAA beamshots comparison
This beamshot was done to compare the ITP/Maratac light to some other AAA lights, it is part of my Danish review.

DSC_8351.jpg

I have select all 3 ITP/Maratac models and some other common AAA flashlights, both a cheap one (E01) and some powerful lights. The lights are (Same sequence as picture): ITP 1 level, ITP 3 level, Maratac, Fenix E01, Fenix LD01, LumaPower Avenger GX, Leatherman S2, LiteFlux LF2XT.
All light (except ITP/Maratac) is described in A look at AAA flashlights, and has beamshots in Beamshots from AAA flashlights

BrightnessMax.png

First at look at the maximum amount of light each flashlight is capable off. ITP/Maratac is about the same level as LD01, but cannot match LF2XT on LiIon. Use of LiIon in ITP/Maratac/LD01 would increase their output, but the lights are not specified for LiIon use.

Next I have collected all the brightness settings in the same graph, this shows that ITP/Maratac has a very wide range from low to high, much wider than LD01, GX is close to the same range and LF2XT has an even larger range.

BrightnessLux.png

The last graph shows brightness, measured at 1 meter. The brightness matches the amount of lights, i.e. the optical system on the different lights is not that different in how they focus the lights.

The world's most advanced AAA lights, it is possible to select between floating adjust or a number of fixed levels. Some other settings can also be programmed, including a lot of flashing modes. The first picture shows the standard LF2XT, the second picture is a LF2XT with a custom titanium body.

As usual, great work! Thank you. That Maratac, smaller than the E01 and half the price of the LD01, does pretty good.

Very nice presentation! Just one observation - it appears that the beamshots in the second row (Fenix E01, etc.) under Maximal Brightness are not in the correct order.

thanks HKJ for your endless efforts.
the iTP A3 EOS is still a relevant torch!

First at look at the maximum amount of light each flashlight is capable off. ITP/Maratac is about the same level as LD01, but cannot match LF2XT on LiIon. Use of LiIon in ITP/Maratac/LD01 would increase their output, but the lights are not specified for LiIon use.

For our records only (and i use my iTP A3 only rarely with LiIon's since the body is too short and cant host Protected 10440's), the printed manual states this:
aaaaahc.gif

.
.
to me, the "or 1 x 10440" means, imho, that the light is specified for LiIon ;)

there it says "0.9V - 3.0V"
oops, true.

( sometimes i think that manufacturers are confused themselves, and also mistype numbers. fortunately the iTP A3 starts with Low (Lo-Med-Hi), so Lo and Med are a safe use since these weak modes wont overheat the driver or the LED imho )

Does anyone know where I could get a replacement pocket clip for my itp a3 eos? It has been a great light for me, but the other day I was carrying it in my pocket via the clip and somehow the clip came off the flashlight. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
