I just received mine yesterday and I can't get it to max brightness. I get it to go through the brightness cycle from low to high, but this thing is no where near 225 lumens.

When I switched from a regular Duracell to an Energizer Lithium I saw no difference in the max brightness at all, and in the instruction booklet it says to use a Lithium to get Max brightness of 225 lumens.

This is the battery I'm using... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00003IEME/?tag=cpf0b6-20

Is there something specific I have to do in the hidden menu for it to hit 225 lumens?

You need to use a 14500 3V battery to get the max brightness out of it. The lumen rating is rated using bulb lumen, not out the front lumen.

Hope that helps,

14500 is Li-Ion cell, size of AA and 3,7V (4,2 freshly charged). Using Alkaline, Ni-MH or lithium you'll get about 130lm only.

To get the 225 Max brightness, you will need to get a 14500 3.6V battery and a charger for it. I got mine here: https://www.fenix-store.com/index.php?cPath=53_57

I recommend that you learn a little about Li-Ion batteries to avoid any :poof: situations. Here's a good place to start: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/
