Following MatrixShaman's advice, I was able to install C-LE's bezel on Fenix p1's body. :grin2: :naughty:

Jetbeam C-LE (1.5v Akaline) & Fenix C-LE (3v Cr123)

Fenix C-LE Med mode Vs. Jetbeam C-LE Med mode

Fenix C-LE Low Vs. Jetbeam C-LE low

Fenix C-LE High Vs. Jetbeam C-LE high

Fenix C-LE Med Vs. Jetbeam C-LE high

Fenix p1 $43 (after 5% discount in fenix store) + Jetbeam CL-E $26 (from GB)
Total: $69

Swap the heads around, and you get 2 flashlights.
*Regular 1AA Luxeon 3 light
*Enhanced Fenix p1-CLE cree light with same function as P1d CE ($70) but better beam and brighter too. (p1d CE uses Cree p3, where C-LE uses Cree P4)

Good deal or what? :naughty:

That's hot. But I'm a little confusing. Isn't the Fenix P1 body w/C-LE head using the CR123, while the Jetbeam C-LE is using the AA size cell?

Cool idea! I never thought C-LE could use P1's body.

BTW, I'm totally confused when seeing your title :D

I think you are right. In the comparison, lightbug is prob using 2 Jetbeam CL-E heads; one with the original Jetbeam body and 1AA cell, and the other with a P1 body and a primary CR123.

Only certain Jetbeams that came with the MkII circuit can run the CR123 safely. These have the extra "steady blink" mode and do not have the words "1.5V only" on the bezel.

what we need now are shots comparing the Jetbeam CL-E vs the Fenix P1D-CE, both on primary CR123s!

To Kabile,
I have edited the text, didn't noticed the typo until you pointed out, thanks! As Lexina has explained, 3v is for the C-LE with the P1 body, and 1.5v for the regular C-LE.

To Lexina,
I don't have p1d CE, otherwise I'll gladly do the beam shots for you.
I'm sure there are people in CPF have all 3 of them (P1, p1d CE and C-LE), it will be great if they can do some beamshot of 3v C-LE Vs. 3v P1d CE

So this should only be done if the C-LE circuit has the hidden mode right?

I was inspired by this discovery, but the magnet and extra foam washer in the P1 body put me off a bit when I tried it.

Then, I chopped the P1 body. If you use a pipe cutter, you get a good cut with little chipping. You can get it short enough to ditch the magnet. The other bonus is that it's now 67mm long when off. That's 1-2mm longer than the normal P1! For reference, take the AA tube off the jetbeam. The whole light (when you chop the P1 body and ignore the ketring attachment) is the same length as the AA body!

Thanks for showing us this,
Kevin

I have one for trade in the Trade section and they pop up fairly often in the Sell section. That's about it for now; Emilion is out and he was the only one selling to people not in Asia.

lightbug, did you do any mods to the P1 body or did you just screw it right on and start using it with a primary Cr123?

How's the fit? I've heard it is very tight... My stock C-LE is quite tight already and doesn't show signs of loosening up (perhaps big o-ring).

Gunga, C-LE goes on P1 without any mod. It fits pretty well, not tight nor loose.
