Why does the military show much longer runtime than the other 18650 lights.They say they have the same power. thank you

The Military has a much lower low mode than the other JetBeam models, somewhere under half a lumen.

i just ordered it because i was told it was removed and it should be here soon,, from what i read is because it is semi regulated and now u would have to ask or read what that means, lol

Ah, you meant runtime on high - it's precisely because it's not regulated on an 18650, the others are regulated. Regulated means the circuitry keeps the output level steady for as long as possible, until the battery is simply too weak, then the output drops very quickly. With the unregulated Military, the output gradually declines over time, so while it's not as consistently bright, it does indeed last longer.

yep that is what i meant , lol and selfbilt pmed me after a few questions and said it is plenty long high for most people and him , so that summed it up for me basically, i will let u know when i get mine and do a review and some beam shots and some runtimes mainly on high and when it starts dimming basically while running

caveat: i don't own a military but i do own at Jet III Pro ST. Runtime at max on a trustfire 2500 mAh protected 18650 was 1hr 45 minutes before the protection circuit kicked in but i honestly cannot envisage a situation where i would need to be on max all the time.

So that being said, i'd prefer fully regulated output vs dimming output.
