I have just recieved my RRT2 and I must say its a very nice light but the brightness and throw of it is a litle dissapointing for the price. I just wanted to hear what you guys think is it just a over prices nice looking light? I feel my £15 solarforce L2 is just as good althought the build quality lacks its efficentcy is just the same so why does the rrt2 cost £80 more? Im also scared to use it as it costs so much I dont want to damage it lol!

Sorry your disappointed but it's a 240 lumen light so I'm not sure what you expected, it throws well and mine looks very much like the advertised 240 lumen when comparing it to other light's that I know for sure the lumen count.

Price per person is subjective but I own at least one light from most Chinese manufactures and the Jetbeams are the best quality among all of them.

I guess I should have asked first though did you get the R2 or R5 model? I own the R2 model and if you have the R5 I can see where it might not throw as well as one would think for a light that size so it might not seem as bright just by looking at the throw alone.

If your really not satisfied put it for sale or trade at the Marketplace, they usually go quick there. Then again if you hold onto it for a little while maybe it will grow on you, I consider the RRT-2 a tank of a light and one that is at the top of my list if I needed to grab just one for a rough situation.

Do you have the XR-E or XP-G model? The XR-E model is really nice for the size with great throw (again for the size) and the best heat sink I've seen in a light that size (hence the really heavy head). I don't own the XP-G model but I saw Jetbeam did away with the copper heat sink which is ironic since the XP-G puts out more heat. I'm guessing the XP-G must have less throw too so I could see how you would be disappointed with the new XP-G model.

I have the R2 model. Its just because my £15 solarforce is of equal throw because it too is a 240 lumen light so I was wondering why the jetbeam is so pricey? Does anyone else like me worry about using it incase it gets damaged because its soo pricey?

The RRT-2 is neither an amazing thrower or known for amazing brightness. It is perfectly fine for a 240 lumen 1x18650 light but doesn't have much more throw than the JET III-M. The RRT-1 is then one you want for throw.

The thing about the RRT-2 is it has to be one of the finest looking lights ever made. The light is amazing to look at and hold. The proportions and detailing are beautifully done.

Jetbeam have ruined the looks of the light with the new R5 version IMO. The differences are only subtle but the proportions have been altered.

I do use mine and I am not worried about damaging it although I know what you mean - it is overpriced in the UK. Nearly £100 is too much.

The RRT-1 has more throw, due to the larger reflector, but RRT-2 has a very bright hotspot, compared to many other light of the same size.
