Hi folks

My Jetbeam RRT2 after several days without use do not turn on anymore. Only a small flash appear when I switch it on. One time it was turned on but when I changed to mid power it failed to turn on again.
Is it an easy problem to solve or better to return it to store ???

Thanks and have a good new year !!!

Maybe you are using the wrong type of battery...too high of voltage?

Hit us with more details...

I´m using AW 18650 and Titanium CR123.
I tried using these AW and the problem occured. I recharged Aw and the problem wasn´t solved.
Using a brand new pair of CR123 that flash only on click was the unique light it throwed.
I´m not sure if changed the polarity when I put that AW inside flashlight, putting negative forward when I tried it first time. After that I really checked and the polarity is correct, positive forward.

thanks

Putting an 18650 in the wrong way? :shakehead

I don't know if the RRT-2 has an electronic polarity reversing protection, if not, I'm afraid you killed your light! :candle:

Does it only happen when you click it on or can you press it on momentarily. I only ask cause i had issue with my clicky every other click it would not turn on.

Just bought mine three weeks ago and everything works fine with mine. Hope i do not have this same promblem in the future

Clicking it on or momentarily touching the buttom occurs the same .

It's possible it could also be your clickie switch. I have a RRT1 that probably has the same switch that is in the RRT2 and it had a bad switch with the same problem as yours. The dealer sent me a new switch and that cured the problem.

I thought I had the same problem on my Pro-III ST BVC...turns out that I was accidentally entering program mode. I was accidentally entering program mode without knowing it and I either a) set it to moonmode accidentally or b) maybe left it in program mode. Either way the light seems to work fine but it's wayyy to easy to change program modes. YMMV

Hi folks

My Jetbeam RRT2 after several days without use do not turn on anymore. Only a small flash appear when I switch it on. One time it was turned on but when I changed to mid power it failed to turn on again.

I have the exact same issue. It started flickering at first, when revolving the selector ring, so I cleaned it up and applied deoxit to contacts. No difference. During the process of testing, I did the same as you; inadvertantly put the 186500 in the wrong way :shakehead ......and now nothing.

I get a dim light with 2 x 123 primaries but nothing with 18650's. The light has reverse protection but I think I killed the clickie switch.

Any other suggestions guys?

I would like to chime in with a RRT2 problem, first one is it flashes when I turn it on (I can live with it) but the other one is annoying, it turns off sometimes and I can get it to come on by tapping on it or clicking it on and off.

I figured it was a connection problem so I swapped batteries cleaned threads used different kinds of batteries but it still does it.

I got it from flashlightgear.com and I am reluctant to send it back because they guy is not that fast and terrible with communication.

I think I am going to try to email Jetbeam direct and see what they say.

Jetbeam will say that they'll be happy to fix it and thet you should contact your dealer to claim warranty...

I contacted them because of the preflash of my Jet-III-M Ti, they answered within 24 hours each time. I don't send my light in as the operation is too risky for that minor problem. I wonder why so many Jetbeams preflash. heir built quality is one of teh best around, but it seems many lights have electronic issues...:shakehead

As for your RRT-2 shutting off, what batteries do you use? Is there some rattling, so that the contact my get lost? Is the tailcap as tight as it can be? It is a curious consctruction, I never took it apart and don't know if you can tighten it from inside or the outer stainless ring.

I ordered an RRT-0 at another Jetbeam dealer, the communication doesn't seem to be the best as well. A few days ago, I got a mail that my order would ship within 24 hours, 3 day ago the dealer contacted me with some questions which I answered immediately and I'm still waiting either for an answer or for a mail that my order shipped at last, so I sent another mail yesterday...

First of all I'd like to say hello to all. Just joined up and it's my first post. Been browsing the forum for a while and it was this thread that finally made me join up so I could post a reply.

I've had similar problems with my RRT-1 and RRT-0 and it turned out both times to be the clickey. I emailed back to where I purchased it from and I was sent replacement switches and some spacers which fixed the problem.

But I did find another solution that works great also, and is actually still sitting in my RRT-0.

I had a forward clickey sitting there from one of my Fenix lights and it fitted perfectly, and I have not had a problem with it since.

That is exactly what I was experiencing. It kept flickering and turning off. I did the same as you; cleaning etc but no difference (see my post above).

Anybody know what would cause this? I still think it is related to the clicky switch but am not certain.

I guess you already have done what I recommended just above your posting...

First thing I would do, is testing if it really is the switch. Take a bended paper clip and short-circuit the negative end of the battery with the body and wait if the problem occurs. As an alternative, you may install another switch, if you have one that fits.

If it reveals to be the switch, ask your dealer for a replacement. I don't know if you can open the switches to clean them, I never took one apart...

Thanks Henk_Lu. Couldn't get the paper clip to work but have tried the RRT-2 Raptor tail cap on a Jet-III Military - it works. Jet-III tail switch does not work on the RRT-2 though, so problem is not the tail switch.

Must be the internal circuit / light engine of the RRT-2. I am in the UK but bought it from HK e-bay seller (who is excellent). I may as well send it back to JB, seeing as it is not covered by a UK warranty.

What is the contact for JB and is a the language barrier a problem for those who have had communication / dealing with JB? Thanks
