Just ordered HDS High CRI Clicky... can't wait!

After seeing various threads & photos about CRI and color rendition, I was sold. My lights are used outdoors 99% of the time and it is frustrating to have grass, branches, dirt, etc. appearing two-dimensional and off-color. So what was a CPF'er to do? I went for a custom order through HDS: High CRI Clicky, black stainless bezel, raised tailcap button, and executive operation. Should be perfect for those nighttime dog walks.

Needless to say, as a previous owner of a Novatac 85T, Twisty 85Tr, and EDC Clicky Executive 120, I am pretty excited. Foolishly I parted with all of those lights, but there is no shame any longer. Now the waiting game begins!

Seems to be a run on Clicky's lately. This is the forth or fifth order for one I've seen in the past week -- including the high CRI I ordered last Friday.

And I really hate the waiting game. I wish HDS lights were available locally, but my only option is mail order.

Great purchase. I can't stress enough how great that high CRI emitter is (not to mention the killer host). I'm a huge incan fan so I've had every warm/neutral tint emitter known to man. Nothing comes close to the quality of light output by that 93 CRI emitter. Maybe it's just something particular to my eyes, but it's like someone turned on a secondary light providing another angle of viewing when using that emitter. I can't put my finger on it.

As a result I now have the high CRI Clicky, Twisty, and another two high CRI emitters from TC's group buy on the way to put in other hosts...

I just ordered a 170, but took a while to decide between it and the high CRI. The only way I finally did decide was to reframe the question into which one was I going to buy first.

I don't see where he talks about which LED it is, but here is a blurb from his FAQ....

"A typical cool white LED has a CRI around 72. Most warm white LEDs have a CRI around 83. Our high CRI warm white LEDs generate a CRI of 93 - the highest in the industry. The differences between conventional LEDs and high CRI LEDs are quite dramatic when compared side-by-side. Skin, plants and even rocks take on a very natural tone and show much more vibrant colors." The high CRI is really getting talked about lately! There are like 6 Ra threads on the first page of this "LED Flashlights" forum. Im glad im not the only one that is completely impressed / obsessed with it!

You've just ordered my favorite light, and I'm sure it will quickly become your favorite as well.

I almost hate to inform you that very soon all of your other one cell lights are likely to become obsolete, neglected, or abandoned. I'm terribly sorry for your loss... :devil:

Don't have to worry about too many lights being neglected or abandoned... I've already sold 99% of them!

Must have been preparing myself for the new Clicky, and I didn't even know it!

As indicated above, the high CRI Clickies are rated at 93 (is that how you'd say it?) and they use Seoul P4's.

my girlfriend ordered me a HDS clicky 170 yesterday as a suprise birthday present- sapphire lens, exec programming, black titanium bezel, fully loaded out and i didnt tell her what i wanted she just guessed, thats a damn good guess.

I just ordered my first custom HDS light. Pretty much a regular high CRI version, just with a raised tailcap instead. I'm very impressed at how quickly HDS works. I ordered it on a Monday afternoon, and received it just about 30 minutes ago, today on a Wednesday. I really wasn't expecting it for a while. So far Im extremely impressed with this light.

i have bought a few but none directly from HDS. Just to be clear, you got it TWO days after ordering it?

I see that on their site it says to allow two weeks for building it. I just hate waiting two weeks. Two DAYS is way cooler!
