kd q5 mag mod

just received my kd q5 mag mod kit (smooth reflector), says it will light a spot 600 feet away, yeah right!!!! it is so ringy it doesn't even have a spot(large black shadow covers most of the beam) and included in the kit is a very small plastic reflector, maybe an after thought.
using this tiny reflector does give a spot but the large aluminium reflector is a waste of time. has anyone else had problems with this kit? /www.kaidomain.com/WEBUI/ProductDetail.aspx?TranID=4475
how is this supposed to be installed?

put an aspherical lens and it throws like crazy, are you sure you bought a right one? AFAIK mag plastic reflector doesnt work really well with Cree.

i ordered it as a kit with smooth aluminium reflector.
it came with a full size aluminium reflector and a very small plastic reflector which i suspect is an afterthought to fix the problem a d maglite with a 25mm plastic reflector is a bit pointless
a thrower need a big reflector but when you point this flashlight it has a big black spot with many rings around the outside.
