I ordered myself a famous and cheap MTE SSC P4 sku 1995 from DX.
3700 lux throw and ~60 lumens. Not bad for a single AA! Can't wait.

But... I just stumbled across this one while looking at some other lights.

It has such an amaizng spec for a 3 x AAA battery flashlight.
9780 lux throw, 9290 lux overall, 129.1 lumens. WOW.

Has anyone bought this? Any comments?

It's my first post here so be gentle with me please. :p

Hi and welcome to CPF!

If you don't mind the fat barrel (not too comfy in pocket) this may be fine. Takes aaa batteries which is good while traveling.

The "achilles heel" with some of the cheaper lights is the sporadic build quality - you can buy two of the same product and one works great but the other does not. They often require cleaning (deoxit) and lubing (nyogel) and sometimes foam spacers (to stop battery rattle) or solder blobs (to improve conductivity) or even thermal cement (to increase heat-sinking). On the other hand, many work great "out of the box", even at ridiculously low prices.

There's a lot to learn so read before you buy. Watch your wallet - but enjoy the journey!
