Okay, after using reliable Surefire Batteries, I need to find an alternative. I have yet to try Battery Station CR123s, and I am more and more interested in using rechargeable such as the 17650s. Anyone out here uses a rechargeable that A) works without modding the L4, L5, and E2E [with Kl1] and B) won't blow up the KL1, L4, and L5 s'?

Hello Merlin,

I have been using a Pila 168S in my L4 ever since the L4 was first released. Still going strong.

Hi Merlin,

I'm using a Panasonic unprotected 17670 in my L5. Drop in no mods necessary. Flat regulation till the cell voltage touches 3v and it actually blinks for a few seconds before it starts to dim. Cell voltage goes back to around 3.2v after a while so it's safe to run it with an unprotected cell. My favourite light.

Thanks for the info SilverFox and BrianChan! I think I am going to go for the Protected 17670s offered by Battery Junction. Any notes about the UltraFire brandname that I should be aware of?

I used some of the Ultrafire 17670's in my Insight Typhoon (Gladius) and I got a 1 hour 15 minutes runtime.
