I already own an E2D and was wondering whether you guys thought it is a better deal to buy an L4 or just get the black KL4 upgrade for my E2D?

Same thing, in terms of performance. I take it, you've got a black E2D (are they all black? -I don't know.)? I think you should just keep your eyes open. I've seen some L4s sell on CPF for the same price, or less, than some KL4s sell for. If you see a sick deal on an L4, especially like $90 or less, and it's got a decent tint, I'd go for it.

Good luck on the KL4-BK-WH It took me a few of years of looking, and the only place I found them just sold out. How do I know this? I just bought the last one. I am not even sure that SF is making the Scout light in black anymore so it may become even more rare. The last L4 that I got is one of the whitest that I have seen. I don't know if this is due to the "bug" bieng worked out, or luck of the draw though.

If you can get your hand on a Black KL4, by all means get it. It will compliment your E2D body and TC. I couldn't find a black one and so mine looks like this:- (2nd from left)

Hi,

I recon you could also get the KL1-BK White LED which is more a "spotter" and would propably be easier to find then the KL4-BK. For more "flood", just put on a surefire F04 diffuserlens... Maybe the E2D's crennelated bezel could be put on the KL1-BK as well?

I e-mailed Surefire and they said they carry them in stock. I would need to call if I wanted to order one. And thanks for the responses btw.:twothumbs

Hi,

How come that you had to call them just to order the Black KL-4 LED bezel? Why couldn't they accept an order through e-mail?

This is the same procedure they use if you have to return a Surefire to them for repair... you have to call them just to get a "returning" number. Again, why can't they just send this number through e-mail?

I sent them an e-mail on 20 May 2007, the International Department, asking them if it would be possible to buy an yellow G2 Bezel as the one I had got burned/melted. So far they haven't bothered answer my request :sigh:

I think it is also strange that some companies in the US who sell Surefire lights on the internett say that they can't ship surefire lights outside the US because Surefire has told them not to...??

Since surefire lights and gears are quit expensive here in Europe, the only way to save some money is to search the internett to try to find someone that would ship to Europe at an acceptable price...

I have absolutely no idea why they are so "strict" with policies like these. I guess they have the Surefire standards to live up to.

I also looked so long for a KL4-BK I eventually bought a super well priced complete L4. Then the good people at OpticsHQ got a couple of KL4-BK's in not long ago. I used mine to make an NRA Defender pocket friendly. This is as close to an L4-BK one can get.
