"Tactical" flashlights are usually supposed to be held "the tactical way", i.e. thumb on the tail switch, arm folded and raised so that the light is on the side of the user's head.
To use only the "blinding" function of such a light against an assailant, I wonder how good a L-shaped light (ZL and the like) would be.
Of course it would have instant access to the maximum brightness and to strobe.
